Windsurfing: Shoreham Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: Session time = 2-6pm Surf / Sea State: LT@3.30pm Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Sunshine! :) Max Speed: Distance Covered:
A slightly iffy forecast delivered an absolute cracker of a session. Solid
wind all afternoon combined with low tide and sunshine throughout resulted
in lots of happy faces at Shoreham today. For me the first hour was
arguably the best. I arrived just after the wind had kicked in so the water
state was relatively un-ruffled. Perfect freestyle-type 5.8 weather, great
for moves-a-plenty and I was soon knocking out the tacks, duck-gybes and
body-drags with far more success than normal in the standard Shoreham
chopfest. And all to myself! :)
It wasn't long before several fellow slackers turned up and so did the
wind. Soon it was maxed waveboard 5.2 weather :-o and ramptastic. I had a
go on Billyboy's RRD Twintip 105 with a view to buying if liked. Which I
did, but unfortunately it felt just a tad smaller than I had hoped (i.e.
probably not a board that will plane in a gnat's fart with my 6.6). So the
waveboard was launched and the session continued with big jumps and planing
gybes a plenty until fatigue, other commitments, a dying breeze and the
start of mid-tide choplumpcrap called a halt to playtime.
Great afternoon - about as good as it gets for a summer no-swell session.
